A man and all his ladies right here. This sweet family just welcomed their second girl to the world and she couldn't be more adorable. Bringing home a new sibling for first children can be so hard at the start but it's so great to watch their relationship blossom over the first few months. This big sister is just the sweetest and I know they're going to be the best of friends <3
I'm absolutely loving this stage of life. Do I miss having alone time and being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want? Sure, all the time. But these children that I get to call mine are becoming tiny, functioning humans, and it's amazing. They're so sweet and fun and I just love watching them grow.
The other best part about this stage is getting to watch my friends have babies and helping them document this special time through photographs. Here's a few shots from a recent newborn session I did for a girlfriend of mine. The sibling shots were my favorite - I just love watching their interactions - such cuties!
Our beautiful baby girl has been a part of the family for just over 5 weeks now and we couldn't be more in love. Eleanor Adair King was born on her due date (just like her big brother) on April 3rd, 2017, weighing 7 lbs 7 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long.
She's just starting to hand out a few smiles to a lucky few and she's cooing her way into our 3-year-old, Henry's, heart (thank goodness he's finally warming up to her). I don't want to rush things, but I also can't wait until she's old enough to play with her big brother - watching their relationship grow is what I'm most looking forward to.
Now that the I'm not hugely pregnant (and cranky;), and the baby is getting a little bigger, I've started to crave my creative outlet and have picked my camera back up. I'm hoping to be back to shooting for clients by the end of the month and I'm really looking forward to getting back to business!
It's that time of year again when the almond blossoms start blooming to remind us that spring is just around the corner. This year, I was taking very limited sessions but when good friends from out of town were wanting a six-month session for their adorable daughter, I suggested they make the trip to Chico for the blossoms. We ended up with a semi-cloudy day (a little on the cold side) but we made the best of it and ended up with a fun gallery of images to celebrate this little one's half birthday.
The idea of having ten more tiny toes around the house is exciting and terrifying all at once. These baby toes are the only ones I know.
I know it's going to be amazing having another baby but I also know how much more work it's going to be. So for the time being, I've taken a tiny step back from my photography business in order to focus on preparing for this new baby girl we will be meeting in six short weeks. Of course I'm sure I'll be posting baby pics and a few sessions with clients I am taking but they're pretty few and far between for now.
Hoping to be back in the full swing of things by the summer.
I'm still going through all of my fall family sessions and posting the fun family sessions that I was so lucky to capture. Here's one of a friend and her adorable family of three. The photos were also a little announcement that they are expecting their second child this June - soon to be a family of four!
What's cuter than a newborn session that includes a Santa hat? Probably nothing. I loved getting to shoot this little bundle of joy right before Christmas. She definitely doesn't need to be under the mistletoe in order for her parents to shower her with kisses - she's just the cutest. Enjoy and hope you had a great holiday season!
I love these clients and their adorable boys. They let me photograph them a few times a year and I always look forward to the session because they're so easy to work with and make my job a breeze! Plus, they're always dressed perfectly for the occasion - loving the mustard yellow and navy hues in their fall family session!
Most families request that I don't post any photos from their fall family sessions until after they've sent out their holiday cards - to not spoil the surprise of their new family photos. Now that the holidays have come and gone, I'm going to start posting some of my favorite sessions from my 2016 fall photos!
I'm starting with this adorable family that I love getting to photograph each year - are they not the cutest?
Enjoy and Happy New Year!
This year I ran a Facebook contest to celebrate my first full year in business. The winner of the contest was Betsy Webb and her adorable family. We had a great time shooting in Lower Bidwell Park enjoying the newly fallen leaves, the fresh fall air, and the creek rushing by - a perfect autumn day. Loved getting to meet this family and I'll definitely be doing more contests in the future.
I guess it's technically Halloween so summer has come and gone, but really, What a Summer! This blog has been completely neglected due to a ton of travel, busy days, and a very exciting announcement - I'm pregnant!
Although, I've continued to take photos for many clients, the summer and recent news of a new one on the way has put a complete halt to all blogging and social media. However, that is stopping today! While I compile my favorite images of clients from the past few months, I'm reflecting on what a great summer I spent with my family and so grateful for all that life has to offer.
The summer was filled with great trips to London, Lake Tahoe, Southern California, Santa Cruz, Big Sur and more. All the while, living through the first trimester of pregnancy (insert sick emoji face). But who's complaining? What a Summer!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from this time spent away from my computer (but not my camera).
Watching your friends have kids is such a great time in life. I love to hear about friends who are pregnant and I get even more excited when they ask me to help document that time. I loved being able to capture pictures of this little guy! He has great parents and I'm so looking forward to watching him grow.
First birthdays are the best! One is definitely my favorite age for little ones - they're just getting bigger and doing so many fun things at this age. This little lady was full of sugar and spice and everything nice. She's an absolute doll and I loved the watermelon theme her mom chose for her first birthday - so cute!
It was such a pleasure meeting and photographing this sweet boy and his parents. I've mentioned before how I love this job because it allows me to meet new people; well this time, I not only met someone knew but also ran into a friend from the past. Such a surprise and gift when you get to help capture such a special time for someone you know.
August 1st will mark my official first year of business, or so says the City of Chico :) To celebrate this exciting achievement, I'm giving away a free photography session to one lucky couple, family, individual, whomever!
All you have to do is like my Lindsey King Photography Facebook page and comment on my page with your choice of location and what type of session you would like.
